Flex tokens: What are they?

This article will explain Flex tokens and their use with the Flex Standard and Extreme.

The Bad Elf Flex comes in Standard and Extreme versions.

The Bad Elf Flex can have Extreme mode enabled for 24-hour periods. These 24-hour periods are unlocked by purchasing and loading a Bad Elf Flex token onto your Bad Elf Flex.

Extreme mode allows the user to take advantage of the following:

For Standard:

  • Unlock multi-frequency

  • Use RTK with your local CORS or VRS network for centimeter-level results

  • Use L-Band satellite corrections for places you don't have a data connection or SBAS availability

  • Point-1-Navigation (Coming soon)

For Extreme:

  • Use L-Band satellite corrections for places you don't have a data connection or SBAS availability

  • Point-1-Navigation (Coming soon)

Flex tokens: Where to buy them?

Bad Elf Flex Extreme token packs can be purchased from the Bad Elf Store: Bad Elf Flex™ Token Packs
This link can be found in the Bad Elf Flex app as well: Tap Corrections mode > then Tap Buy Flex Tokens

On the store page, Flex Tokens can be purchased in 1, 5,10, and 20 packs.

Upon checkout, an email is sent to the customer, this email will contain a QR and an 8-digit code. These codes are what allow users to load their tokens.

Flex tokens: How to load them?

When Token packs are purchased from the Bad Elf store a QR and 8-digit code will be generated. Entering this code in the Bad Elf Flex app by following these Steps:

1. With the Bad Elf Flex turned on and paired via Bluetooth to a phone or tablet. Open the Bad Elf Flex app and tap ACCURACY MODE.

2. Tap Buy or load more Flex Tokens > then depending on if you have a QR code or 8-character code tap the correct method. Completing the correct code or scanning a good barcode will load your Flex tokens.

3. Now back to the Accuracy Mode screen > Tap Use token to turn on EXTREME accuracy > Tap Yes to confirm

Once the token has been loaded successfully your Accuracy Mode should change to Extreme, and your Flex Standard is ready for L-band, NTRIP, or RTK network credentials to be entered.

*Note NTRIP, L-band, and NTRIP Crediantals will be provided by your network provider.
